Out...like a light!

So I went to my first OB appointment today. It was early in the morning, so I dropped Micah off with my mom and headed over. I filled out paper work and all that and got into the doctor. I was so excited when he finally did the ultrasound part. I got to see my little blob. You could see it's heartbeat and everything. It just blows me away that something can form so fast! I was all ready to go with the picture of my little blob in hand when they told me they needed to take some blood really quick, so I walked back into the exam room and the nurse started taking my blood and we chatted and soon I was on my way out the door again. I stopped really quick to get my next appointment and started feeling funny. The nurse that took my blood walked by as I was putting my head down and I told her I was feeling faint. She told me to come back into the exam room and sit down for a second while she went to get me juice. I sat down and put my head back and I was OUT LIKE A LIGHT. The nurse said she came back as I was falling out of my chair and onto my knees. I just remember waking up to the doctor by my head and nurse on each side (these are by far the nicest nurses I have ever met!). I was totally confused at what had happened. Well, I was fine, but it took me a while to not feel light headed, so they didn't want me to drive. They call up my trooper of a husband who drops everything at work and comes running down to rescue me and drop me off at my moms. What a day! I feel OK now, but I think I am going to ask for a pass on the IV when I get to the delivery room. That didn't go over well last time. I guess I am weak sauce!

By the way, that picture is not my doctor, just a creepy guy I thought would be funny.

Isolated kid

So, I have had my good days and I have had my bad days, but recently they have not been so good. On Monday, we had Music Makers which is this little music class for 1 to 3 year olds. I wanted him to be in it so that he would interact with other kids his age rather than just watching them. He gets kind of scared when they get loud and run around! Anyways, the class was fun and then we ran off to Old Navy to grab a new pair of pajamas for him. While we were shopping, Micah spotted the car and kept saying "mama drive." I don't think so kid! Then as we were leaving he found the bench that has the puppy on it. Normally you would push the button and it would talk, but it was broken, so Micah decided to ride the puppy. I took a picture of it and I will put it up as soon as I figure it out. Anyways, we headed home where we stayed the entire day. I was too sick to go anywhere. Tuesday I had to run out to Target to get a few things, so I literally brushed my teeth and went in my pajamas. So sad! That was our big outing for the day. On the way home, Micah saw the park and said "mama, go play." I told him mama was too sick to play and he was fine with it, but I felt terrible for him. He is a pretty content kid. Luckily, Chad came home and took him to the park for a while, so he hasn't been completely shut in! By the way, I had heard that Sour Patch Kids help with nausea, so I tried it and it worked for me. The down side is that all the citric acid burned my tongue!

Cravings....

So I have to admit I have been having some strange food cravings. Not off the wall, but my body definitely let's me know what I should and shouldn't eat. For instance, meat has just been a rare thing for me. I have been eating Subway Veggie Delights (with extra pepperoncinis) and every once in a while a bean burrito, but meat hasn't bee on my list. Anyways, tonight we were over at my mom and dads house for Sunday dinner (as always) and for dessert my mom had strawberries and ice cream. I decided to put a little twist on this and it may sound weird to you, but it was so good. I took Golden Grahams and crushed them up and fresh strawberries and mixed them up Coldstone style with vanilla bean ice cream. It was so good! So I am sure there are some of you out there thinking this must be strange, but you have give it a shot. It reminded me of a time when I was talking to me friends about what weird food combos they have in their families. Kristyn and the sugar on grilled cheese, Deb and the popcorn with chocolate pudding, my family with the peanut butter on pancakes (very yummy). I just wanted to know if anyone else out there has a particular food combo that is their thing. I would love to give it a shot!

Nostalgic

Last night I had so much fun catching up with old friends. We are talking like way back in the day. I hadn't seen some of these people in years. Some of the people that were there (maiden names) were Stacy Smith and Misty Roy and so on. Others I get to see more often, but I still enjoy their company. It is so funny to see everyone married and most having kids. Actually, the majority of the girls there were pregnant. We just got to sit back and talk about old times. I have to say my favorite was razzing Brett Bruschke over and over again for the time we caught him dancing and talking to himself in the mirror when we were about 16 or 17. Those were good times. I think he wishes he had something on me! I am sure he would take the opportunity to razz on me too. I bet he appreciates me publishing it in my blog for many other to enjoy as well. Anyways, I had a blast and I am glad that I can call all of them my friends. They are some of the greatest people I know. And to those of you who weren't there, I still love you too!

SO sick!

So I was wondering who came up with the term "morning sickness" and it made me think that it must have been a man. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a man hater, I just know there are some less than supportive husbands out there that just notice their pregnant wife was sick in the morning as they were leaving for work. I don't think they realized that it continued through the day and dispite feeling dog sick, she was still able to put dinner on the table later on in the night. There is no such thing as morning sickness. It lasts all day long. I can vouch for that. I have been vertical all of ten minutes today and lucky for me my sweet husband stayed home from work and took over for me. I don't know how I would have survived the day without him! Anyways, I really don't feel like I have any room to complain. I have known several people who have been hospitalized while pregnant and basically been through hell. It is just hard for me to deal with this since Micah was such an easy pregnancy. I just hope that things get better at the three month mark. I'm only 7 weeks now, so I have another 5 weeks to tough it out. Wish me luck!
