Three weeks come and gone!

So three weeks have come and gone and I should have far more pictures to show for it, but I have been in survival mode.  As of right now, I have a 3 1/2 week old that likes to cat nap, a 4 year old with the stomach flu and a 7 year old that is working on his second school project in as many weeks all while I find time to keep up with chores, Christmas shopping and life in general.  It is crazy, but I actually am liking it (minus the flu and school projects).  I feel like there are always a million things to do and never enough time to do it all, but I think I am at the point where I just say "whatever" or decide that some of these things are not going to happen in this season of my life.  For now I am snuggling my little one and might be eating tater tots and canned chili.  Like I said, whatever, this is my last baby and he is not going to stay little for long.  In fact, he is growing like a weed!  He is a sweetheart and we love him.

I'm in love!

This has been one crazy ride!  I've been MIA on the blog because I have been preparing for our newest member to arrive.  Well on the 12th I went in to see my doctor and he said that they would schedule an induction since he was measuring big.  When I got there, he told me the hospital said that I couldn't induce until next week.  I asked if he could ask again because I was done.  Super uncomfortable and nervous to have a 10 pound baby!  As I was walking back to my car, I got a call that we got the green light and we should be at the hospital at 7 am the next day.  I took these final photos.
 Last day being pregnant!
The next morning we arrived and got all checked in.  I got a nurse in training, so the IV took three tries, ouch!  The on call doctor came to check me and tried to break my bag of water, but said I was too high and they were thinking of sending me home.  Well, about 20 minutes later, my water broke.  The nurses started my pitocin soon after that.  We waited a while and it started kicking in a bit.  Around 11:30, they asked if I wanted an epidural now, or wait until 1:30.  I decided it was better to be safe than sorry.  I got my epidural and decided to rest for a bit.  I was at a 3 at that point.  About an hour later, the nurse came in and I told her I was feeling pressure.  She gave me a funny look.  I asked if it was possible that he was ready.  She said it wasn't impossible, but it wasn't likely.  Sure enough, his head was ready to come out.  They were surprised at how fast he was coming.  My doctor wasn't able to make it, the on call was busy in another room, so the head of maternity came in just in time.  Four contractions later, Preston Reid was born!
He was 9 pounds and 10 ounces.  Even the nurses told me that didn't think he would be that big, but I knew he was.
 He is an angel.
He was not very happy to be messed with.  Baths and suctioning and all that fun stuff bothered him, but once he was wrapped up and fed, he was much happier.
He has been a dream so far.
Preston looks just like his big brother Micah.  It will be funny to see if they continue to look the same as they grow.
 Daddy adores him.
Chad and the kids still had school and day to day stuff to do, so I was on my own with him a lot.  They did visit though.  This is what happens when Brooklyn comes to visit.  She takes over my bed, puts the TV on Disney and eats my chocolates.  Love her.
 My living teddy bear.
 Tiny feet and tiny toes.
 So sweet.
 Tiny little hands and fingers.
 Just so peaceful
Soon we were ready to go!
 Homeward bound
 Micah loves him...
 ...lots.
And Brooklyn loves being a big sister.
 Big cuddles.
We adore him already.  He seems to have slipped into our family so well!  We just love you Preston!

Spooky Times

So first off, Micah had a Hero Presentation last week.  He chose his dad as his hero.  OK, so I was a little on the jealous side.  What can you expect?  I think my favorite part had to be when he said that he loved his dad "more than Hot wheels and peaches" which, if you know him, is a big deal!
For Family Night we got some fun Halloween activities in.  Brooklyn helped me unwrap the caramels to dip apples.
Then we started up the pumpkin carving.  That is one of those activities you think can be a family thing, but really it's more like "hey kids, what shape do you want it in?"  "OK, let me sweat while I carve it for you and you watch."
B helped pull out guts so we could bake up the seeds.
Micah helped decorate the caramel dipped apples.
 With mini chocolate chips.
 The pumpkins turned out cute!
 Brooklyn with her witch.
Micah and his Vampkin (that would be a vampire pumpkin).  By the end of the night, I had over cooked the caramel for the apples, so they were nearly impossible to eat and the timer stopped working for the pumpkin seeds, so they burned, but the kids had fun, the pumpkins turned out and the pictures are cute!
The night before Halloween, we did a quick trip to the mall to get a costume for Micah's bear so he would match.  This is how we roll.
Halloween was all sorts of crazy!  First thing in the morning, Micah's school had a parade.
Here he is with his class.  He is in the lower right corner.
This is him with his friends and his matching bear Racer.
Next up was Brooklyn's school party.  She only participated for a second and then she was over it.
Then she did this for the rest of the show.
That night, we met up with cousin Gavin at Grandma and Grandpa's house and trick or treated!
 My LAPD man.
A pink princess (she spilled smoothie on the purple one, thank goodness for backups!)
We had to trick or treat from grandma first!
At the end, they enjoyed their spoils.
Yummy!

Nothing and Everything!

The last two weeks are have been filled with so much stuff, but very little of it would be considered eventful.  It is amazing how full our days get just doing our daily routine (school, preschool, chores, errands, etc.).

Here is a glimpse at what we have been up to!

My friends held a baby shower for me!  Thanks girls!
We have been out playing since the weather is FINALLY cooling off.
 Micah showing his tricks off.
He gets pretty tricky on his scooter.
B playing with my belly button.  One of her favorite things to do.  Almost done!  As of today I have 4 weeks left, but we will see if I go that long.  I think my body would keep him in that long without a hitch, but they are thinking he is going to be big, so I have a growth scan on Monday to check his size and see if we need to kick him out early.  I'm all for that!

On Tuesday the kids got to go to Pumpkin City with unlimited wristbands from Micah's school.
Yes, it is fall around here, but it heat up one last time and we were in summer clothes.  It was 91!
 They are getting so big!
 She thinks my tractor's sexy...
Of course Micah is the driver.
Wow, told you they are getting big.
He was just a pipsqueak the first time I brought him here and now look at him!
The wristbands were well used.  They loved the slide.
Even if it doesn't look like they did.
Can't go there without hitting up the cars.
 Farmer Micah and Farmer Brooklyn.
Shelby and my mom joined us at the end.
We squeezed in one last ride.  The swings!
The next day Brooklyn's school went to Tanaka Farms.  We took a tractor ride.
We went to the petting zoo!
B kept trying to pick this one up!
 So sweet.
 Happy fall!
We got to pick veggies from the garden.
 That's a fresh onion.
We also got to pick out a pumpkin.  This was her choice.
We did the corn maze in 93 degree weather.  Yikes!

Then we called it a day!  We were all wiped out by the end of the day and napped.  By the time Chad got home, my Super Mom cape had been put away and we decided to head out for dinner.  While we were out, we decided it might be time...
...for a haircut!
Now that I am weeks away from having a newborn, I figured I would make my life just a little bit simpler and get her hair cut.  She would be cute if she was bald honestly!
