Do you ever get a little lazy with parenting? Um, I do. There is always so much to do as a parent that I look for little ways to make things easier. For instance, when I take the kids out to get ice cream, I get the flavor that matches their clothes so I don't have to work at getting stains out. Brooklyn gets a lot of strawberry and lucky for Micah, who wears a lot of dark shirts, he gets chocolate!
The other day was probably the lowest I have gone. Brooklyn had been walking around the living room with a juice box. I knew she had spilled a little on the rug and since I knew I was going to jump in the shower, I...I...I sat on it. I know, it's bad! I realized that I was just trying to take one step out of cleaning. Now I had one less rag to clean and the p.j.s I was already going to wash were just a little damper. Oh well!
OK, so I thought it was time for a give away and here it is:It can be for you or your daughter or can be given away as a gift! Here is the deal, I got a feedjit on my blog and now I am totally curious as to who all these people are that are checking out my blog. A quick shout out to Coachella and Bishop CA. I am pretty sure I don't know anyone who lives out there, but they seem to like checking this blog. Anyways, if you are a friend or blog stalker, you are welcome to leave a comment to enter the giveaway. Leave a comment on your parenting shortcuts and I will be drawing a name on Wednesday. Good luck!

8 Quick Thoughts:
Does making your 8 year old do their own laundry count?
I think my brain it too run out to think of any short cuts right now. My poor boys are just living with a cut-rate mother :) Enter me to win that flower...since I'm the only one who can wear it in my home. Did you hear the third is going to be a boy too? I think I'm in BIG trouble!
When I know I need to be out of the house at a decent hour in the morning, instead of pj's at nigh,t I dress my kids in their clothes for the next day.
Ryan and Laura, I know what you mean. I have 3 boys now ( 4,3,9 months) It is lots of fun and always crazy. My parenting shortcut is Wednesday morning movie and popcorn. Every wednesday morning we pop in a movie (my choice, I like long ones they haven't seen in a while) and they get to eat popcorn in the living room (big treat since usually no food outside of the kitchen) and they watch a movie while I do whatever it is I want to accomplish. My little guy is always taking his a.m. nap so I really do get left alone for nearly 2 hours :D
This story is hilarious...I would totally do that!
I love your ice cream shortcut. I just con't give him ice cream or live with stains...but your way is more creative! I have wiped up spills with dirty laundry on my way to the washing machine, but not when I'm still wearing it. Might have to try that;) It was fun crashing your mother's group last week! I can't find an invite to joint though. PS I don't need to enter the giveaway...I already won those cute clips a while ago.
Love the story! I bet if you had people leave anonymous comments you'd get a ton of crazy stories about funny things moms do in a pinch. Hmmm, maybe a future blog post for you? :)
My parenting shortcuts are to teach my kids serious chores at a very young age. Brad's latest chore is vacuuming the whole house. Man oh man does he complain, but he does it! hehe
