So the theme for the week seems to be grody. I know, you probably haven't used that word since like fourth grade, but really, its a great word to describe my week. First off, there is Micah who has peed the bed, not once, not twice, but three times this week and I know he is doing it on purpose now. The first time was an accident, but I think he liked the attention he got from it, so he did it again. Finally, this morning he was up talking for some time before we told him to come out of his room. Just then he tells us, "I peed." I go in there and there is hardly anything on the sheets, but he is soaked. He must have stood up and peed after he had woken up. I am so annoyed with all the laundry I am doing right now. He is having to deal with not having blankie with him for his naps because he is being washed, so that might get him to stop, but for the time being, we are going back to wearing Pull-ups at night! Now, on to Brooklyn, who won't be out done by her brother. It seems as though she has relocated the Bellagio fountains into her mouth because she has thrown up on me FIVE times this week. The first time was a mess and gross and took a while to clean up since Chad was at work. I had myself, the carpet and Brooklyn to clean. Then last night, wow, she really put on a show. Carrie, you just missed it! She was changed, and I had fed her and she was drifting off to sleep when she burped a little and then up starts the fountains. She spewed three times and there was so much, it literally made a pool in my lap! Luckily, I had a blanket nearby to cover most of the couch. Nasty, nasty, nasty! Chad helped with the clean up and I couldn't help but laugh. What else was I going to do, cry? I was covered with throw up and Chad was attempting to hold her at an arms leangth with his shirt over his nose and holding his breath. I thought I was going to pee my pants! Well, we are pretty sure it is just her formula, so we switched it and are hoping for the best. Poor thing. We are all pretty tired around here. Me of laundry, Brooklyn from throwing up, Micah of not having blankie, Chad of having to deal with a frazzled wife and my washer of all the loads of laundry its doing!
In other news, I got crafty. I spent much of my day yesterday cutting heart after heart after heart to make my Valentine's garland. I think it turned out pretty cute. I love getting crafty. Even if it is just simply paper, paint and ribbon, things like this help to take the stress away. I think I might some more things to make for V-day!

The business of being a kid!
Chad is such a mush for his babies. He is always spoiling them. He can't help it, they melt his heart! Yesterday we took a trip to Target and after we got the necessities, Micah wanted to see the toys. While he looked around, I showed Brooklyn this little doll and she lit up! She loved it and Chad said we had to get it. His exact words, "she's a girl, she has to have like thirty dolls, right?" Well, I guess this is doll number one for her. To be fair, daddy of course had to buy Micah a cool new motorcycle. Could I have kids that are any more opposite of one another? They played and played with their toys all night and we tried to catch that look on Brooklyn's face when she sees her doll. We caught it, but she had he binkie in. You can see how happy she is in her eyes!
Then she decided to bite her!
Anyways, Micah is a crack up. If you have met him you would know. Here are some of our latest conversations. This is just two days worth of funny. Again, if you know him you understand what a funny kid he is!
Me-Where do you want to go today?
Micah-Ummmm, the hospito.
Me-The hospital? We're not going to the hospital. We're not sick.
Micah-OK, then how 'bout the mall?
Micah-I'm sick.
Me-Why are you sick?
Micah-I hurt.
Me-What hurts?
Micah-My brain. My brain is sick!
Me-Do you have a headache?
Micah-Yes, I have a headache.
Me-Micah, is Brooklyn awake?
Micah-Yes, I think she's eyes are up.

Our happenings...
No pictures, just a couple of updates. Chad's parent's popped into town on Thursday night. Friday they took Micah out for the day. He loves his Ghee and Papa. He was so excited to be picked up and he even picked out his own outfit. I only had Brooklyn, so I took off to the mall. I never realized how fast you can go through the mall (with successful purchases) with just one kid. I guess it has been a while. That night we went out to Ichiburi's for dinner. That place is so yummy! They had to take off on Saturday, so it was a quick visit, but nice. I feel like I need to relax afterwards because I put myself on best behavior. Not that I am being fake, I probably just talk less than usual so I don't say the wrong thing. That's pretty typical right?
Sunday was a bit of a surprise. I am in the nursery and as of this week, we were down to one kid. My co-leader and I decided that we should take him into primary since it would be more fun for him than playing alone. So we head in there and the primary president gives us this panicked look and asked us why we were there. We told her he was all alone and that we planned on staying with him. She was relieved and told us they were short a teacher. I looked over to see that the Sunbeams (age 3-4) had no teacher! So Barb, my co-leader, sat with the kids while I kept Brooklyn happy. Near the end I sat in the back by the primary secretary. I leaned over and asked her who was going to take the Sunbeams. She told me she didn't know. Just then, the primary president who was in the front of the room said, "Let's dismiss Sis. Trotter and Sis. Moody with the Sunbeams." Looks like I got my answer! From there, we had the most haphazard class known to man. We even played pictionary after the shortest lesson with handouts that had nothing to do with it! Oh well, it worked out just fine. All I can say is I deserved my Sunday nap!
Today I am exausted. For some reason, Micah peed his bed. He hasn't done that in a long time. Anyways, he did this at 4 in the morning. So, with the lights still off, I just had him take his bottoms off and put new underwear on then jump into our bed. A half hour later, he was still up and talking to us. I finally grabbed a blanket and laid on the couch. I got a couple more hours of sleep before I woke up to yet another peed through baby. Looks like I am going to be doing lots of laundry and getting a nap in today!

Picture blog
No big events have been going on for us (its kind of nice), so we are just doing our normal routine. It is fun to spend time with them just playing on the floor in p.j.'s and getting pictures of them in their element.
Micah is such a good big brother and want Brooklyn in his room to play. She usually just wants to stand and he is patient with her even when she stands in front of the TV.
One of the few times he actually wanted his picture taken. Kind of a creepy grin.
I know it is blurry, but it's still cute.
I am still playing around with the camera and though this was kind of cool.
So typical of my boy. Distracted...probably by a car!

Old and Bold
This post was inspired by my dear grandmother who greeted me yesterday by saying, "You will have to excuse me, I've had Montezuma's revenge all day!" What do you say to that? Other than thinking, man that is gross, I thought, being old is going to have its upsides (not the diarrhea, the openness)! I have had a lot of experience being around the elderly. I worked at a retirement home for years in their restaurant. I would hear things like that all the time. One of my favorites was from an old couple that said, "Remember we want our dessert to go. We have to go home and shag." If that isn't the epitome of old and bold, I don't know what is! Although the aches and pains of being old will suck, here are some of the pros I can think of...dinner at 4:30, getting fat and no one caring, saying what you want without a filter, farting when and where you please, talking about number two with interest, telling younger kids what it was like "in my day" with a quiver in my voice, being cranky and not having to explain why, getting a senior citizen discount, making See's Candy part of my food pyramid, having a yippy dog that only likes me and bites other people, wearing my pants way high because it is more comfortable and I'm skinnier there, exercising in a chair and feeling like that was a big work out, learning to play bridge, making my kids change my diapers (just kidding), taking naps for no other reason other than just being old, totally not caring about pop culture or trends because what I think is cool now will be cool forever in my mind, etc., etc.! Can you think of a old person perk?

A hunting we will go...
That's right, we have started the house hunt! Our budget is pretty low, so the few condos we looked at today weren't in perfect shape to say the least. One of them literally had all of the paint peeling off the bathroom walls and ceiling. Another was faux painted EVERYWHERE! One was definitely owned by some dudes before because there was wiring everywhere in the house. All of them needed new carpet and some needed more paint than others. Chad felt pretty discouraged by the end. I wasn't so much, I just thought we would have a lot of projects ahead of us. We are going to wait a while and see what else comes up. Hopefully more in our price range and without a bedroom downstairs. I am hoping that Chad will get excited soon, but I know he likes things to be perfect and not have to do any of the work. One day, when we have money, I know he will buy us a house that will need no work whatsoever. That is his idea of the perfect house. I just hope I can find one that will be good for our family and that I can make our own. I hope I can walk into one and just feel at home. For those of you that own your home, when did you know that you wanted to buy it? What made it different from the others? I just want to make a good choice for our first home!

Worse than nails on a chalkboard...
...the sound of Brooklyn grinding her brand new front teeth together! It is the grossest sound and it freaks me out that the teeth that she is just now growing are being ground down. For now, that pacifier is in 24/7!

8 Months!
Brooklyn is 8 months now...can you believe she is closing in on a year? She is getting so big, literally, she is getting huge! Did I mention how I had to hunt down pants that her sausage legs would fit in? The 6-12 months were so tight she couldn't crawl and I couldn't separate her legs enough to sit her on my hip! On to 12-18 months... Anyways, she has got the crawling down and is ready to move on. She pulls herself up on everything now and wants to walk. She has pretty good balance too. I am hoping it will make her happier to be up and moving, but holy cow, she is too young to be wandering around on her own! She is also quite a talker and says "mamamamamama" all day. My favorite is that she now waves and it is hilarious. You just wave and say hi to her and she starts flailing her little arm around. She is a cutie with the best laugh ever, still high maintenance, but I guess that is a girl for you!

Best Hand-me-down Ever!
Being the third child, you get used to hand-me-downs. They just become normal, right? To this day Chad and I still get hand-me-downs, but now it is furniture. We have only bought 6 furniture items from a store. The rest are hand-me-downs or bought second hand. We have gotten some cool thing and some kind of crappy things, but this one blows them all out of the water:
Chad came home last night with a 42" plasma TV for free! One of his colleagues has very wealthy parents who were getting rid of their 42" TVs to put up new 52" TVs. So he went over to their house and helped take down the old ones and put the new ones up and get them running. This was his reward! Awesome, huh? For now it will be sitting in the garage until we move. I'm looking forward to having it up in our new place. There is nothing like watching Baby Einstein in high def!

Our new show
Chad and I love each other, but to be quite honest, we don't have a lot of hobbies or interests in common. We can't agree on music either! Anyways, when we do come across something we both enjoy, it is fun for us. Our last bonding experience was over Boston Legal. Great show! Well, we have watched the entire series and now that it is over, we were looking for a new show. Here is our new show:
Has anyone else heard of this one? It is The Big Bang Theory and basically it is about the biggest nerds on earth. They are all some sort of scientist and they will have these conversations about comics, physics, Star Wars, computers and so on that are hysterical! Those of you who have a husband with a nerdy side (like mine) will get it and enjoy it. I think one of my favorite parts of the show was when they showed the guys on their bowling league complete with uniforms. The best part is that it was a Wii bowling league! Chad and I end up having discussions afterwards about people that are actually like that and it becomes a bit of a chicken or the egg conversation. Which came first the anti-social or the nerdiness? Anyways, it s a good show and you can catch it on CBS. Enjoy!

Potty Rules by Micah
On the way home from the park today I said I needed to go potty and here was Micah's response: "Hold it, OK mommy? You gotta hold it...and don't go on your seat, you can't go on your seat...and you can't go on the trees, you understand me?" He is so funny!

It's coming...
For those of you who know my mom, you know she has been limping for a while. Her hip has been bothering her for a long time and since she doesn't like doctors, she let it go for a LONG time before she finally went in. Funny how someone who is always willing to cart you into a doctor is always the last one that will go in themselves! Anyways, she has gone in and time after time she has been given different diagnosis. They have said bursitis and arthritis and a pinched nerve, etc. That is an HMO for you! Well, my dad was sick of hearing all these different things and never seeing an improvement. I think he is actually sick of having to help her put her boots on! He was persistent enough to where they finally gave her an MRI, two actually. Finally, we know what it is. She has worn away all the cartilage in her hip. It is bone grinding against bone! She has met with an orthopedic surgeon and now it is official. She is getting a hip replacement on February 25th. I am so nervous for her. That's my mom going under the knife, so of course I am worried. I know she will do fine. She is a fighter and I am willing to bet she will make one of the fastest recoveries they have seen. She is going to be so sick of being in bed and taken care for two months that I am sure she will be dragging herself out of bed as soon as possible. Besides, I think she is petrified of a bedpan! In the mean time, she has to start using a cane to take some pressure off of that leg. For those of you who know my mom, you will agree with me when I say that she must have been a squirrel in another life. She hordes all things shiny and sparkly. So for now I am contemplating buying her one of these:
...or just encrusting one with rhinestones!

Here we go!
Here is a quick post to play catch up. I think it is more about showing the pictures I have gotten to take with the new camera than anything else! Well, over the break, Shelby hung out with us, which Micah LOVES! We went out to the park and played one day with the new soccer ball Santa brought. While I played with the camera of course!
I love this one of Micah pushing Brooklyn on the swing. He wanted to push her so bad. He is such a great big brother. You might be able to see below, that we are in trouble. This little girl is already pulling herself up on furniture and trying to hard to walk. She is keeping us busy. All I can say is high-maintenance!
Chad found this cool feature on the camera where you can select a color that you see through the viewfinder and it will find that color and put the rest of the scene in black and white. I think I might try to do a photo shoot and use that feature on Brooklyn's baby blues!
And these, well they are just so typical of my kids!
P.S. I finally cut Micah's hair. Here is the before and after photos!

I'll get to it...
We did get the card reader and I can get my pictures now, so I should be doing that. I promise I will, but give me a little time. I decided to stop nursing all together since Brooklyn's top two teeth are coming in and she thought I would make a good teether. Right now, I look like I have huge fake boobs and I am mostly thinking "ouch." We also got very little sleep last night since Brooklyn seems to be thinking "ouch" too with those teeth coming in. When I finally did get her to sleep, she decided the best position for her was horizontal with her feet in my back. I think nap time will count for all three of us today!

Little Hiatus
If you haven't noticed, I am taking a bit of a blogging hiatus for right now. A blog just isn't a blog without pictures to help tell the story, so I am waiting until we get the card reader that will work with our camera so we can put some up. We have been having fun and taking lots of pictures. It has some great features. I also have some fun and cute stories to share (I hope I remember them all), a few fun family happenings and just general stuff. By the way, it is freezing here right now! It literally will be dipping down around freezing tonight and tomorrow night. Our heater has been on a lot lately. Poor Ashley and Troy are freezing in their new place. They asked us to wear jackets when we came over. I think they might have to breakdown and turn on their heater for the first time! Well, when we stopped by last night to check out the place, Ashley was showing us around. It is really a cute place. They only have minor things to do to make it their own. Basically, the people that lived there before were kind of tacky. The paint colors and wallpaper and, my favorite, the metal toilet lid all need to be changed. We went into one room and it had one wall that was fuchsia pink and they had painted the closet door frames the same color. Micah walks in and says "ooh, Ashley nice paint!" I guess the former owners let their kids do the decorating. Anyways, like I said, I will be back with some fun photos and stories!
